- Prep for Microdermabrasion Treatment -
- 1 week prior to treatment discontinue use of Retinol-AA, AHA or glycolic acid products
- Laser treatments and chemical peels including glycolic should be discontinued 3 months prior to treatment
- Prescription acne medications such as Acutane should be stopped at least 6 months before microdermabrasion treatments are started
- Microdermabrasion should not be considered if extreme sun exposure is to be followed after treatment.(vacations, sun tanning, etc.)
- After Treatment -
- A slight redness of the skin is to be expected
- Sensitivity may occur
- Desquamation (a light peeling) may occur 3-4 days after the aggressive treatment
- Client Home Care -
- Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day
- Apply the recommended hydrating products regularly
- Use sun protection fails (SPF 30 minimum is recommended)
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning salons, saunas, swimming pools and whirlpools.
- Discontinue use of Retinol-A, AHA, glycolic acid or essential oil products for 3 weeks after treatmentLED Photo Therapy
Should not be preformed on clients who are:
- Pregnant
- Epileptic
- Have a pacemaker
- Have metallic inserts on the treatment site
- Insulin dependent diabetics
- Have lupus
- Have an auto-immune illness
- Sensitive to light
- Take photo-sensitive drugs such as Acutane or Tetracycline. You must discontinue usage for atleast 3 months prior to treatment
- Have photo-sensitization disorders
- After LED Photo Therapy Treatment -
- Skin must be kept clean after strenuous exercise. A gentle foaming cleanser is recommended
- Hot water should be avoided when showering or washing face
- All makeup should be non-comedogenic
- Keep treated skin protected from the sun (SPF 30 is recommended)
